Garden Gate Study Club’s Arbor Day program was held at The Delta Project Community Garden. Arbor Day Chairman Charlotte Little, presented the program explaining the meaning of Arbor Day and the importance of trees in our environment. Delta’s Executive Director, Farrar Crigler and Program Coordinator, Katie Schroeder, along with children from Delta’s “Cultivate” program assisted in planting a Celeste Fig and an Asian Pear provided by GGSC.
National Garden Club and the Louisiana Garden Club Federation, Inc. continue to promote awareness of breast cancer issues and encourage members to plant areas of pink flowers in public landscapes to raise public consciousness. Gate Study Club President, Tami Boyd and Junior Garden Club Chairman, Lea Ann Fain Walley add pansies and pink snapdragons to the flower bed at the walking trail sign. We hope our “Plant it Pink”project here will be enjoyed by all who use the walking trail at Civitan Park,

Garden Gate Study Club members collected a box of toys and donated $140 to The Wellspring, Winnsboro. LA. The Wellspring offers services that help survivors of domestic violence have a life free from emotional, physical, economical and sexual abuse.
Garden Gate Study Club members contributed to the Thanksgiving basket for a needy family. It was delivered today to the Franklin Parish Sheriff’s Department for distribution
Roadside Beautification Project
Garden Gate Study Club member Martha Lacovelli and husband Ernie worked on the Roadside Beautification Project at the North Winnsboro sign. The roses are doing great. They weeded and added pine straw. Mission accomplished!!!!
