May Meeting

The Bulb & Blossom May meeting was held at the home of member Pam Quirk. Pam had a lovely arrangement on display showing how using only green leaves of varying shapes and colors can be an option when designing. She then demonstrated how flowers could be added. Monthly Meeting - April 7

Bulb and Blossom Garden Club members recently gathered for its monthly meeting on April 7, 2026. An Easter theme was carried out!
Mrs. Nookie Miller, President of LGCF District VII, attended the meeting of the Club and brought news of State events! The latest is the partnering of the Louisiana Garden Club Federation and Keep Louisiana Beautiful!
Our April program was given by member Sarah Bollich. Sarah gave a wonderful presentation on vermiculture. Vermiculture is the cultivation of earthworms, specifically Red Wigglers, to convert organic waste into nutrient -rich compost know as worm castings.
As a teacher, Sarah has incorporated this practice at her school and will be using the castings to fertilize the plants in their new garden beds.

With planting going on and gardens being built consider including this amazing byproduct!

The Bulb and Blossom Garden Club was so pleased to have Glendale Elementary as the recipient of our Arbor Day tree for 2026. The 4H students planted the Live Oak in the playground area of the school where it will provide shade for years to come! Thank you principal Laura Lombas for allowing us to partner in this project!
