DSGC Unified Project Award Rules 2021-2023

LGCF award applications should be submitted to
LGCF award applications should be submitted to
Kathy Bedenbaugh, Chairman Deep South Garden Clubs Project katieb3@charter.net

Ladies,
Please let me know if your club is planning to apply for the Deep South Garden Clubs Unified Project Award for 2021-2023. Remember, the different category awards will be presented at the 2023 convention that LGCF, Inc. is hosting on March 8-10, in Kenner, LA.

We really need clubs to apply for this award so Roxanna and LGCF, Inc can be proud of us. I will need those award applications by Jan. 5, 2023 so that I can have them judged before sending the winners to the Deep South Chairman.
I look forward to hearing from your clubs notifying me that they are applying for this Deep South award.

The 2021-2023 Deep South Unified Project will come to and end in December. I will need your project application sent to me by January 5, 2023. I am so in hopes that many of you have worked on this project. It is NOT too late. Please go on the LGCF, Inc. web-site and review the rules for this project. Remember this is a monetary award and.... we want Roxanna to win some of these categories at the 2023 convention that our very own state is hosting in Kenner, LA. The rules are so easy for you to accomplish one of the categories.

I would also ask that you ask your members to plant at one one (1) native flower, plants, tree and vegetable in their garden. More would be great! I'd like a report on how many were planted by December 1, 2022.

Please let me know if you have any questions. And thank you for supporting Roxanna and LGCF, Inc. on this project for Deep South.

Kathy Bedenbaugh
LGCF, Inc. Chairman for the Deep South Unified Project
To Club Presidents & Club Award Chairmen:
  1. Attached is the Deep South Region Award Application Cover Sheet which is posted to the Deep South Garden Club website: Deep South Region Award Application Cover Sheet
  2. Please use this form when submitting awards to Deep South judges.
  3. Ignore the first line that says, "NGC Award Number .......NGC Award Name." I will fill in this information if the award is going on for NGC consideration.
  1. Add the name of the submitting club's city/town on the same line after "Name of Group/Club/Individual Applying for Award"
Example: Odum Garden Club, Odum GA
  1. Often the club member preparing the award application cover sheet and 3-page application does not live in the city/town of record for the club, but his/her contact info is all the award certificate chair has to prepare the award certificate. Incorrect identification of the city to which the club is located can cause a great deal of consternation when the club's town is incorrect on said certificate! That was incredibly verbose, but I hope you muddled through it!
  2. Remember the email for an award you send to judges will have two attachments: the application cover sheet and the 3-page application Word document from the club. Send ONE email per award application.
  3. The Deep South Awards Procedures attachment on the Deep South website will be updated soon. I'll send you a list of changes when this happens.
Thanks so much for all you do for our garden clubs!
Again, please contact me with any questions.
