GROUP UMBRELLA INFORMATION All forms must be typed or computer generated. IRS does not accept handwritten forms. Apply for EIN (Employer Identification Number) for your garden club. This can be done on the computer at www.IRS.gov. By-laws should be signed and dated. If your club does not have by-laws you will have to adopt some. Write a letter requesting inclusion under LGCF exemption umbrella to LGCF Treasurer (Ruth Delhomme) include all necessary information. Deadline for inclusion letter and all attachments is November 1, 2017. Attachments are: Club By-laws, Articles of Association form and Articles of Incorporation (if club has been incorporated). If letter is not received by deadline (November 1 of the current year), your club cannot be included in the group tax exemption inclusion until the following fiscal year. If your club’s gross income is over $50,000 per year, you must file form 990EZ annually with the IRS. If your club’s gross income is under $50,000 per year, you must file a form 990N (postcard) annually with the IRS.
