Flower Show of Jefferson Parish Council of Garden Clubs and the Federated Council of New Orleans at the Botanical Garden in City Park - April 5, 2024
District II clubs hosted a NGC Standard Flower Show at the Pavilion of Two Sisters , New Orleans Botanical Garden during the Spring Garden Show. The theme was” Fairytales, Fables and Folklore”. Tricia’s entry was a decorated box, “Pandora’s Box” in the Botanical Arts Division.
There were over 130 horticulture entries, 36 entries in the Design Division,14 educational exhibits, a photography section, and 12 Botanical Arts Crafts entries.
One of the highlights of our show was club competition. This was a special show award not a standard NGC award. There are many young families that visit the Spring Garden Show and our flower show. Our committee decided to do something special for these families. Clubs were asked to depict a scene from a fairytale that would be instantly recognizable by our young visitors. It was very successful for young and young at heart.
