Shady Oaks had an extra event this month, a study of the grapes of Italy. We learned the type grapes grown in the different regions and the regulations of marketing wine from Italy. We also had a tasting of these wines at Total Wine in Metairie. |

New Member Luncheon - August 10, 2023
The Shady Oaks Garden Club held a luncheon for new members on August 10th. Four new members and one who joined last year were attended and each was presented with a small token of welcome.
The agenda included the history of Shady Oaks, Committees, Monthly Meetings, and Ways and Means, and the topic “So you’ve joined a garden club. Now what?” A lively question and answer session occurred during a delicious lunch!

Shady Oaks Garden Club members attended the Christmas luncheon of the Jefferson Parish Council of Garden Clubs. During the luncheon JoAnn Christopher was honored as a founder of the organization. JoAnn is also the founder of Shady Oaks Garden Club.
