MRGC had their September Meeting at the lovely home of Charmaine Kathmann. The yearbooks were reviewed, Dottie Pechon gave a Horticulture report on a beautiful Wandering Jew, and Marty DeBolt presented an enlightening Design. There were Door Prizes and afterwards a delicious meal of Gumbo, Salad, and Desserts were enjoyed by all. Susan Finney, District Director, presided over the President's Meeting held in the Lafreniere Foundation Center. She didn't miss a beat! Thank you Susan! Sandwiches, pasta salad, dips, and a wide array of desserts was enjoyed by all!

Binders and Folders were meticulously created for respective officers. We now have everything at our fingertips for perusal from the experts. Thank you and Jobs Well Done! The JPCGC Awards and Installation Luncheon held at Chateau Estates Country Club, MRGC members attending were left to right Jackie Ciuffi-Historian, Betty Gibbs who was installed as JPCGC Recording Secretary, Betty Murray, Karen Whitaker-Corresponding Secretary, Sharon Rojas-Outgoing President, Daria Vincent-President, Maria Griffin and Debbie Corales-Treasurer. Jackie Ciuffi won 50/50 which was $72.00. 
​Daria Vincent receiving JPCGC 1st Place Christmas Door Award from Chairman, Mary Jacobs at the Awards & Installation Luncheon. The wreath had fresh red cranberries, fresh white flocked Christmas tree limbs from a tree lot, fresh white chrysanthemums with green centers and fresh baby breath. Inserted were three gold wire Angels holding 
musical instruments and proudly silently singing. An ornamental wooden door had gold baubles inserted in its windows with a sign which says Season's Greetings.

Metairie Ridge Garden Club installed new officers for 2023-2024. Each lady was presented with beautiful roses. They are Jackie Ciuffi-Historian, Kathleen Piazza-Historian/Parliamentarian, Sharon Rojas-Vice President, Daria Vincent-President, Stella Bowman-Recording Secretary, Karen Whitaker-Corresponding Secretary, and Debbie Corales-Treasurer.
Metairie Ridge Garden Club had their Awards and Installation Luncheon at Chateau Country Club. Table flower arrangements were brought by Jackie Cuiffi and Stella Bowman consisting of a beautiful vase with purple Angelonia plants. An array of door prizes were brought by the members. Metairie Ridge Garden Club members attending the New Orleans Federated Council Garden Club Awards and Installation Luncheon are Daria Vincent-President MRGC and Jackie Ciuffi-Historian MRGC. The luncheon was held at Augie's Restaurant in Harahan. The food was delicious and we had a good time. They had a Silent Auction which Jackie bid and received Jams and Jellies as well as Daria bidding and receiving items.
Metairie Ridge Garden Club member Daria Vincent received 1st Place Christmas Door Award from Federated Council New Orleans Garden Club at their Awards Luncheon at Augie's Restaurant in Harahan. Daria received a Certificate along with a monetary award. Presenting the award is Reba Mackey. Not pictured is Jackie Ciuffi who received the Willie Lanasa Artistic Award. Congratulations!

At the April Meeting of The Jefferson Parish Council of Garden Clubs, Inc. at the Lafreniere Foundation Center, Metairie Ridge Garden Club members were Hostesses presenting a lovely Spring Flowers, Birds and Birdhouses theme. A wide array of delicious sandwiches, salads, dips and chips, and desserts were served. The Member seated is Sharon Rojas, President. Standing are Jackie Ciuffi, Daria Vincent-VicePresident, Charmaine Kathman, Betty Gibbs who brought a beautiful iron wagon with Daisies for the centerpiece, Betty Murray, Marty DeBolt, Karen Whitaker, Stella Bowman, Maria Griffin, Pat Terranova and Debbie Corales.

Metairie Ridge Garden Club 2022 Christmas Luncheon
Metairie Ridge Garden Club Christmas Luncheon was celebrated by Stella Bowman making lovely Gnomes for members, Jackie Ciuffi selecting lovely table settings for door prizes, and garden club members bringing a garden related gift with each person receiving an exciting gift. The Christmas Tea was an enjoyable fellowship. Along with lots of delicious food, all members brought a special ornament obtained from throughout the years to present along with a warm-hearted sentiment that they told. Some made you cry and others made you laugh! One was a little drummer boy magnet that one person remembered their son would put on the refrigerator before they decorated the tree, few dated back to a hundred years, some were ornaments with a sentiment in memory of a loved one, while others honored a spouse. Metairie Ridge Garden Club, along with the Jefferson Parish Council Garden Clubs, Inc., decorated the Lafreniere Foundation Center with a large Christmas Tree in festive beautiful colors of red and green along with hanging large coordinated colored Wreaths above the windows.
